Issue 10 - Police Levy

On the May 3, 2022 Primary Election ballot, Whitehall voters approved Issue 10 - the Safer Whitehall Levy.  Issue 10 is a 2.822 mill property tax levy to support the Whitehall Division of Police.

100% of all proceeds from the levy will be completely dedicated to police operations and capital expenses, including the hiring of six new sworn officers, an expansion and renovation of the Division of Police Station, enhanced dispatching capabilities and technology improvements. The City plans to take out a $7 million General Obligation Bond to fund a 9,000 square foot renovation and a 13,000 square foot expansion of the police station. 

The project will include upgrades to the dispatch center, training room, firing range, work stations, fleet garage and property room. Additionally, the lobby and reception area will also be redesigned, and named in honor of fallen Whitehall officer, Terry McDowell.
