The Division of Police is organized into three bureaus with distinct duties in serving the Whitehall community: the Administrative Bureau, Operations Bureau and Detective Bureau.

Administrative Bureau
The Administrative Bureau is responsible for conducting criminal investigations, crime analysis, investigative intelligence, dispatching 33,000 calls for service per year as well as administering the budget, the police fleet, the property room, records management, technology, administrative reporting and compliance, along with handling supplies, training and a multitude of community outreach projects.
The Operations Bureau is responsible for the safety of residents, business, and people traveling through Whitehall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. They patrol the neighborhoods in patrol vehicles and on specially equipped police bicycles.
The Detective Bureau is responsible for investigations on every felony committed in Whitehall and some misdemeanor crimes. The Whitehall Division of Police handles about 1,500 felony investigations per year along with undercover and intelligence operations. The Detective Bureau also operates and maintains a mobile crime scene processing unit capable of processing most serious crime scenes through the use of modern technology.
