The John Bishop Roller Hockey Rink opened April 2023 in the City of Whitehall at 721 Country Club Rd.
A partnership between City of Whitehall Parks and Recreation, and the Columbus Blue Jackets Street Jackets helped bring this special space to life.
This recreational facility now offers a central location for youth to be introduced to hockey as a team sport while providing a public space for programming to develop the skills of players of all ages. We also offer event rentals for your birthday and team parties, scrimmages,

Hockey Programming
Adult Roller Hockey League (Recreational Division & Competitive Division):
We are excited to announce that our Adult Roller Hockey League will begin play the week of August 12th at the new rink in Whitehall! Matches will be on Saturdays and the fall session will run 7 weeks plus 1-2 weeks for playoffs. Game times will be between 12pm-5pm. This is a program offered by the Whitehall Park & Rec Dept. and registration/payments can be made directly into the online system by skaters. Cost is just $50/skater and goalies will play for free. Rosters will have 7 players minimum per team and you can request to play with a buddy again when you register. Teams will be formed draft style the first week before Week 1 matches. Intermediate/Advanced Youth Roller Hockey Program:
In this program, skaters will focus on passing and stick handling as well as shooting with accuracy and skating with speed and power. Skaters are responsible for bringing their own skates, shin guards, pads, and helmets are strongly recommended. The instructor will introduce a variety of fun drills to help build on passing and shooting fundamentals and then have the youth apply those skills to game situations. In addition, each session will also incorporate scrimmages between participants to give them opportunities to apply principles in a positive learning environment. Prizes will also be given on special occasions to youth for exceptional performance, sportsmanship, teamwork, so get excited for an awesome program this fall!
