Traffic Control Box Art Project

Application Period Closed - Stay Tuned for Samples from the Artists!

Let's think outside the box! The City is looking for local artists to help us bring life to otherwise stagnant traffic control boxes through a Traffic Control Box Art Project. If selected for the project, you will be awarded $500 and your artwork will be translated into a 2D vinyl wrap, to be installed on traffic control boxes throughout the Whitehall community.

  • Who Can Apply: Everyone is welcome, including professionals, teachers, students and general art lovers, although preference may be given to local artists. All modes of art are also welcome (painting, sketching, photography, etc.), as long as the art can be translated into a 2D digital format for printing.
  • How to Apply: Use the form below to apply and upload samples of your original art for the City's consideration. You may also submit something new that you design using the traffic control box template below. Selected artists will be asked to refine a piece of art for printing  on to the vinyl wrap.
  • Deadline to Submit Art Samples: October 10, 2022 (Application period has now closed)
  • Award: $500 (Should your art be selected)
  • Questions: Contact Megan Meyer, Deputy Director of Public Affairs, at 614-817-3131 or megan.meyer@whitehall-oh.us
  • Template: Download Traffic Control Box Template
There are two possible traffic box sizes that your artwork might be selected for. Feel free to use either size for a sample/design, knowing that you may be asked to adapt the artwork later.
