The City offices are closed for eight holidays each year. They include: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (and the Friday after), Christmas Day. There may be additional holidays observed by each of the bargaining units.
The open-air picnic shelters at John Bishop Park and Lamby Lane Park are available to rent May through September. Reservations can be may starting February 1 of the same year. Please visit our Facility Rental page for rules and pricing. Whitehall Parks and Recreation does not have any indoor facilities.
The Parks and Recreation Department runs the Whitehall Senior Center, a community amenity for all residents 55 and older. Membership dues are $10 per year. The youth sports leagues in Whitehall are all independent organizations. Whitehall Parks and Recreation supports the Whitehall Youth Athletic Association (baseball and softball) and the Whitehall Bantam Football League (football and cheer) with facility usage. Both leagues play in John Bishop Park.
Whitehall Parks and Recreation operates a splashpad in John Bishop Park (adjacent to Rosemore Middle School). It is a gated and attended facility. Please see our Splashpad at John Bishop Park page for more details.
