I never saw this tree until buying in Whitehall in 2010. Young, it resembles a Sumac, At 70 feet it is mistaken for Walnut. It is an invasive, fast-growing tree introed to the US from China. I cut one by my house foundation yearly and it sprouts again. It is choking beautiful trees all over my neighborhood, It spreads by 'whirly-gig" seeds like a Maple, It will crush your foundation or crack your driveway, and NEEDS to be on Whitehall's no-plant list.
