PRESS RELEASE 2021-17 Photo

On Thursday, November 4th, 2021, the Whitehall Police Department conducted a proactive drug, weapons, and violent crime enforcement effort within the city.  In total, officers arrested 18 individuals, which included warrant arrests for Robbery, Felonious Assault, and Breaking and Entering.

A couple of the major incidents included a vehicle pursuit on an individual suspected of selling illegal narcotics.  Officers arrested the driver after a short chase. There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit. Another incident involved one of the department's K-9 units. Officers located a known party who had active warrants for Receiving Stolen Property (F5), Robbery (F2) and Tampering with Evidence (F3). The suspect fled on foot when officers attempted to stop him. K9 Breti was deployed when the suspect jumped a 6-foot privacy fence and hid in a cluttered backyard providing the suspect with cover, which increased danger to the officers. K9 Breti located the suspect hiding and assisted taking him into custody. Fentanyl was found on the suspect at the time of his arrest.

Deputy Chief Dan Kelso stated, “This is a continuing effort by patrol officers and detectives to take dangerous criminals off the street and make Whitehall a safer place to live and work.”
