[ARCHIVED] Armed Suspect Arrested by Whitehall Police

On August 22nd, 2021 around 12:53am Whitehall officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of S. Hamilton Rd. The driver of the vehicle was placed in the rear of a cruiser. While officers were talking to the passenger, Deshon Glenn, Glenn jumped across the center console of the vehicle and fled on foot out of the driver’s door. Glenn was holding something in his waistline as he ran. Officers pursued him on foot and were able to surround him in a parking lot. Glenn then pulled a loaded 9mm handgun from his waistband as officers began to order him to “drop the gun”. Glenn dropped the gun as officer’s deployed Tasers to safely take him into custody.


Glenn was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon (F-4) and taken to the Franklin County Jail. Glenn was on Community Control at the time of his arrest for a previous arrest of Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

 Deputy Chief Kelso said, “This subject put our officers and himself in a dangerous situation” ”After our officers were able to cut off all routes of escape during the foot pursuit, they were able to safely take the subject into custody even though he pulled a loaded handgun from his waistband’
