[ARCHIVED] Juvenile Arrested for Whitehall Attempted Homicide

PRESS RELEASE 2019-025- Arrest made in attempted homicide thumbnail

The Whitehall Police Department has arrested the juvenile suspect from the December 2nd Shooting that occurred in the rear of 850 South Hamilton Road

Gregorio Canchola, age 13, has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder. He was located at 425 Half Avenue, apartment B, in the City of Circleville by Whitehall detectives and S.W.A.T. officers and was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators have determined that this was not a random crime. Canchola and the victim of the shooting were known acquaintances. It is believed the shooting stemmed from an argument.

In the original press release, the victim was misidentified as Rogelio Moran. His correct name was found to be Juan A. Contreras-Moran, age 21.
