On 11/7/19, at about 6:44pm, the Whitehall Police responded to 4450 Josephus Ave. on report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find 53 year old Thomas Battle suffering from gunshot injuries. Battle was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of the mother of Battle’s son, 38 year old Crystal Lanier. Lanier was taken into custody at her residence on E. Mound St. in Whitehall.
Lanier has been transported to the Franklin County Jail, charged with Murder.
