The Whitehall Police Department arrested a suspect from the Thursday, September 5, 2019 shooting that occurred in the area of 768 S. Hamilton Rd.
Treyrek Dashawn Hairston, age 21, has been charged with one count of murder. Hairston resides at 768 South Hamilton Road, where the shooting took place. He was located by officers a short time after the incident, inside a nearby Kroger grocery store. He surrendered when confronted and was taken into custody without incident.
The victim has been identified as 29 year-old Trevel Robertson of 6649 Kodiak Drive, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. Investigators determined Robertson was shot multiple times.
Investigators have also determined that this was not a random crime. Hairston and Robertson are known acquaintances. It is believed that this shooting stemmed from an argument. Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact Whitehall Police at 614-237-6333.
