Not only does CHOICES have a temporary shelter for women and children, it is one of the most comprehensive programs in the state, offering a wide range of services for victims and survivors of domestic violence. Required childhood immunizations are available for $15 per shot for children ages 1 month through 18 years of age. Cash or check, Medicaid, CareSource, Buckeye, Paramount, UHC Community and Molina are accepted; however, no one will be turned away due to the inability to pay for childhood immunizations. Please be sure to bring your insurance card, photo identification and your child’s immunization record with you to the clinic. The Division of Fire’s Community Paramedic is designed to serve as a stop-gap between hospital and home care. In many cases, a visit from our Community Paramedic can help a patient resolve a medication error, correct a problem with a typical at-home medical procedure or prevent a fall. Our Community Paramedic provides many services to our community, and we have realized a great benefit as an emergency medical provider in having this position as a resource for our first responders.

The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) offers free residential energy efficiency programs that keep homes warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and reduce energy bills. These income-eligible programs are available year-round to Franklin County residents at no cost. Examples of services include furnace replacement or repair, installation of insulation, light bulb replacement, and other important energy saving measures. You can also apply for WarmChoice, offered in partnership with Columbia Gas of Ohio, the Ohio Development Services Agency, and AEP Ohio, through MORPC's website.

The City of Whitehall is committed to supporting current homeowners in their endeavors to improve their homes, neighborhoods and the Whitehall community. The City has created the Home Reinvestment Program and the Sidewalk and Driveway Approach Replacement Program to financially assist residents with their front-facing exterior home projects. Qualifying Whitehall homeowners are able to receive reimbursement of 50 percent of an exterior home remodeling project or 25 percent for sidewalk or driveway approach improvements, up to $7,500 total. Note that the 2020 program was cancelled due to the financial impact of COVID-19.
