Spring Clean-Up

SpringIcons22020 Dates: Monday, April 27-Friday, May 8

(Spring Clean-Up weeks are always the last week of April and the first week of May)

Once a year, the City provides residents an opportunity to dispose of items they no longer want during the Spring Clean-Up. These items may be placed at the curb for removal by Local Waste Services or City forces at anytime during the collection period. We urge residents to take advantage of this opportunity to clean up their houses, garages and properties.

Also during Spring Clean-Up, the City will collect tree limbs and brush from the curb with the chipper. Learn about requirements for the chipping program here >>

The City also encourages residents to consider how to recycle, donate or otherwise reuse your unwanted items before sending them to the landfill. Not sure of what to do with your items? The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) has a comprehensive Recycle and Reuse Search Tool, available here >>

Acceptable Items:
  • Furniture
  • Small appliances
  • Scrap tires (off rims)
  • Tree limbs/brush (as described above)
Unacceptable Items:
  • Refrigerators/freezers
  • Air conditioners
  • Hazardous waste
  • Construction debris (Exception: We will pick up building materials during Spring Clean-Up once all nails are removed, and the pieces are cut or broken up into sizes that will fit into a trash can, sturdy box or garbage bag. If you are disposing of carpeting, we request that you please cut and bundle your carpeting/padding into manageable 4-foot lengths for easier removal.)
Note that due to the current public health situation surrounding COVID-19, including social distancing guidelines, Garage and Yard Sales will not be allowed as part of Spring Clean-Up. Outside of Spring Clean-Up, the City is not issuing any permits for Garage and Yard Sales until further notice.
