NOTICE: Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the local income tax filing deadline for income earned in 2019 has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020. While the Tax Division has reopened to the public, we still encourage you to file online when possible.

Responsibilities


The Income Tax Division is overseen by the Auditor’s Office. This division is responsible for the processing and auditing of all tax returns and the billing for payroll (withholding), personal, and business taxes. Tax forms can either be downloaded from this website or picked up at the Municipal Building located at: 360 S. Yearling Road, Whitehall, OH 43213

Tax Return


The City of Whitehall has mandatory tax filing for anyone that has lived in the City during the year.

Interest Rate

 The interest rate applied to outstanding liabilities incurred on or after January 1, 2020 during 2020 shall be 7% per annum.

 The interest rate applied to outstanding liabilities incurred on or after January 1, 2019 during 2019 shall be 7% per annum.

The interest rate applied to outstanding liabilities incurred on or after January 1, 2018 during 2018 shall be 6% per annum.

The interest rate applied to outstanding liabilities incurred on or after January 1, 2017 during 2017 shall be 6% per annum.

The interest rate applied to outstanding liabilities incurred on or after January 1, 2016 during 2016 shall be 5% per annum. 

The interest rate applied to all unpaid liabilities to Whitehall incurred prior to January 1, 2016 regardless of when the related returns are filed, shall be 18% per annum or 36% per annum for withholding liabilities.
